The man accused of murdering and dismembering a 27-year-old last month pleaded not-guilty to five murder charges and five other felonies.
Martel Huggins, 33, was arrested by Toledo Police on Nov. 25 while driving a work vehicle belonging to 27-year-old Malicai Calder, who had been reported missing from the 1400 block of Secor Road several days prior.
Police found parts of Mr. Calder’s dismembered body in the vehicle, with apparent gunshot and stab wounds to the head. About a week later, authorities found additional remains on the grounds of Historic Woodlawn Cemetery, which were confirmed to be those of Mr. Calder. The Lucas County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide.
