It was an exciting week of swimmers jumping back into the water for the first time this winter.

The preseason Top 20 held up relatively well with only one new team joining the rankings. There was still plenty of movement within the rankings with some very strong teams beating up on each other.

That should continue to be the case as the season moves along with plenty of parity among the state’s elite.

Bridgewater-Raritan proved its spot at the top was well warranted along with strong starts from St. Augustine, Chatham, Hillsborough, Cherry Hill East and Westfield.

It’s hard to have a better opening week than Bridgewater-Raritan. The Panthers faced three Top 20 opponents, including two in the top 10, and none of the meets were close.
