Allen County Council members have decided to wait until next year to hold a public meeting to gather opinions about the possibility of a casino moving to the Fort Wayne area.

Members initially planned on hosting the meeting next week at the Memorial Coliseum. However, they have decided to delay those plans, and a date has not been set, Councilman Paul Lagemann, R-3rd, said today.

This month, state and local officials have pitched the idea of bringing a casino to Fort Wayne. State Rep. Craig Snow, R-22nd, has proposed creating a 14th casino license to the state, which could make way for a Fort Wayne gaming facility. State Rep. Justin Busch, R-16th, has filed a bill to allow Full House Resorts casino from Rising Star to Allen County.
