A miniature dachshund named Huey has captured the hearts of millions of viewers online after a viral TikTok video showed the exact moment he recognized his owner had come to pick him up from daycare—and did a double take to make absolutely sure.

The video , shared to TikTok under @hueythesauage on November 27, shows Huey slowly approaching the window of DogTown daycare in New York City’s Greenwich Village. As he catches sight of his owner, Sam Wilkes (@samlovesthis), the dog pauses, glances again to confirm what he sees, then excitedly trots off toward the front door to greet her.

Since its posting, the short clip has been viewed more than 4.2 million times and has amassed over 700,000 likes. Wilkes captioned the clip: “It’s the second look to make sure I’ve come in to get him.”
