West Midlands Police chiefs have been accused of "lying" to Parliament and "yielding to the mob" over the controversial decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from an Aston Villa match. The force’s Assistant Chief Constable was forced to issue a clarification after giving allegedly misleading evidence that members of the Jewish community supported the ban. Chief Constable Craig Guildford has been formally asked to return to the House of Commons for further questioning.
