These are perilous times for the men of the Navy Blue and Gold Drinking and Nostalgia Society.

Army plays Navy on Saturday, and you’d think that this was going to be a week of delicious anticipation for them, what with 9-2 Navy led by a dandy quarterback who has been running an option-type offense since he was a kid in short pants in a Pop Warner League as a pre-teen. And Army? Well, 6-5 Army football needs no motivation to play its best against its arch-rival.

Because something lately is missing — as usual.
