EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Daviess County Fire Department officials say they were dispatched to a reported house fire on Lakeside Green early Thursday.

Officials say at 3:31 a.m., DCFD, Yelvington Fire Department, and Thruston-Philpot Fire Department were all called to a house fire that was fully involved.

Crews say upon arrival, fire units found a camper and garage fully engulfed with flames coming from the entirety of the roof and most of the interior of the structure.

They say a defensive fire attack was initiated due to structural collapse and the fire was brought under control.

A water shuttle operation was put in place to secure water supply.

The homeowner was able to safely exit the structure; however, the owner’s pet was found deceased but recovered for the owner.
