The lifeless day-old baby dropped off at a Manhattan hospital by his mother last year was exposed to fentanyl and stuffed in a plastic bag, the city medical examiner’s office revealed Friday.

The tragic newborn — known only as “John Doe” Santiago-Sanchez — died of exposure to the potent drug and his placement in the plastic bag, officials said.

The baby boy was unconscious and unresponsive when he was found at New York-Presbyterian/ Columbia University Irving Medical Center Nov. 21, 2024, police said.
