During the Jets final preseason game in August, Brady Cook and Adrian Martinez were the team’s two quarterbacks.
Almost four months later, that will be the case again in Gang Green’s Week 15 game at Jacksonville on Sunday.
With both starter Tyrod Taylor (groin) and backup Justin Fields (knee soreness) out this week due to injury, Jets coach Aaron Glenn announced that Cook would start against the Jaguars. Martinez, who was signed to the practice squad on Wednesday, will be Cook’s backup.
This will mark Cook’s first NFL start following his debut during last Sunday’s 34-10 loss to the Dolphins after Taylor injured his groin during the first quarter.
