Motorists are being warned to expect overnight closures on a major County Durham route next week as part of a significant resurfacing programme.
Durham County Council has confirmed that a stretch of the A167 between Rushyford Roundabout and the junction with C34 Ricknall Lane, near Newton Aycliffe, will be shut overnight from Monday, December 15 to Friday, December 19.
The road will close each night between 8pm and 6am to allow for carriageway resurfacing.
The works are part of a wider improvement scheme on the A167 and cover a 5.36km section between the A689 Rushyford Roundabout and the B6443 St Cuthbert’s Way.
Diversion routes
Access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles, and the council says on-site signage will highlight any changes or revised dates if required.
