US President Donald Trump announced that Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to halt all hostilities along their shared border starting Friday evening. Trump said he spoke separately with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, describing the discussions as “very good” and focused on quelling the recent flare-up of their long-running territorial conflict.
According to Trump’s message on Truth Social, both leaders committed to immediately stopping all gunfire and returning to the peace framework previously negotiated with US involvement, alongside mediation by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Trump emphasised that both nations expressed readiness to restore peace and maintain strong trade relations with the United States.
