Following a seven-year estrangement, Meghan Markle has finally made contact with her ailing father.
The embattled Duchess of Sussex resorted to taking extra measures to reach Thomas Markle , following his public pleas. The 81-year-old reportedly underwent an emergency lower leg amputation on Dec. 3 in the Philippines.
A spokesperson for Markle, who lives in California with husband Prince Harry and their two children, confirmed to BBC and People that she had a letter delivered to her dad’s hospital bed.
“With the support of reliable and trusted contacts, her correspondence is now safely in his hands,” the statement read, explaining the difficulty Meghan has had trying to connect with him privately.
