BLAINE, Minn. — She's been dead for 52 years — murdered — and still nobody knows why.
Judy J. Bever was last seen on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 1973, after she attended a bowling league and was dropped off near her home in the Twin Cities suburb of Blaine, Minnesota, according to local law enforcement.
Her body was found six weeks later, not far from her home, in a swampy, wooded area. She had been shot twice in the chest.
Her murder has never been solved.
This year, on the anniversary of the discovery of her body, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office Cold Case Homicide Unit renewed its public plea for any tips on the case.
