HUMBLE, Texas (KTRK) -- Humble Police Department Chief Daniel Zientek has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, Humble city officials said.
ABC13 has learned that the city has initiated an independent third party review of the Police Department management and operations. It is unclear why the city began the investigation.
The investigation likely won't be completed until after Jan. 1 due to the holidays.
The city tells ABC13 that Captain Kris Battenfield is now the Acting Chief of the Department.
Because this is an ongoing investigation, the city has no further comment.
ABC13's Brianna Willis is following this story and will have additional information to bring on the latest editions of Eyewitness News at 5 and 6 p.m.
