Pittsburgh Steelers star outside linebacker T.J. Watt had surgery to stabilize and repair a partially collapsed lung, his brother J.J. Watt confirmed on X Friday.
In the tweet, J.J. says that T.J. suffered the injury on Wednesday after a dry needling treatment session at the team’s facility.
Watt was released from the hospital on Friday and has no timeline for return, but has been ruled out for Monday night’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
However, he is expected to play again this season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The 30-year-old has led the NFL in sacks three times in his nine seasons, all with the Steelers. He tied a league record in 2021 when he finished the year with 22 1/2 sacks.
