A federal grand jury has indicted nine people in connection with a series of armed burglaries at an Oakland marijuana grow facility that led to the 2023 killing of an Oakland police officer, federal prosecutors announced.

The indictment, filed Nov. 20 and unsealed Thursday, charges Allen Brown, Sebron Russell, Marquise Cooper, Janiero Booth -- also known as Javon Herrington -- Jowaun Jones, Shawn McGee and Salvador Munguia with conspiring to distribute, possessing with intent to distribute, and attempting to possess with intent to distribute more than 100 marijuana plants. Brown and Russell also face firearm charges tied to drug trafficking.
