MANHATTAN – Kendall and Melinda Hodgson of Rice County are one of Kansas Farm Bureau’s (KFB) 2025 Farm Family of the Year honorees.
Each year, a select number of families receive the Farm Family of the Year award for their service and leadership in agriculture, Farm Bureau and their communities. This year, nine families were honored.
Kendall and Melinda Hodgson manage 4,100 acres of crop ground and grassland. Along with crop farming, they also run a cow-calf herd.
Having been Farm Bureau members for many years, the Hodgsons recognize the work KFB does for farm families. Kendall was first elected to be on the Farm Bureau Rice County Board in the early 2000s, then served on the board for several years.
