Ana Walshe’s friends and family packed into the Dedham courtroom for closing arguments in the trial of her husband. After two weeks, jurors now face the task of deciding the fate of the 50-year-old man accused of killing her on New Year’s Day.

As expected, defense lawyer Larry Tipton and prosecutor Anne Yas presented very different theories of what happened inside 516 Chief Justice Cushing Highway in Cohasset sometime after 1:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day. Tipton told jurors something “sudden” and “unbelievable” happened when Ana Walshe died of natural causes. But Yas dismissed that theory as defying logic, instead telling the jury, “Ana Walshe is dead because he murdered her.”
