JAMMU: Alert BSF troops detained a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist near the Indo-Pak international border in J&K’s Akhnoor district and seized an M-5 rifle and magazines from him, officials said Friday. Officials identified the JeM operative as Abdul Khalik, a native of Margah village in Rajouri district, who had illegally migrated to Pakistan in 2021. Earlier this week, BSF personnel noticed suspicious movement in Akhnoor’s Pargwal-Khour area along the border and apprehended Khalik with the rifle, a full magazine (10 rounds) and an empty drum magazine. A drum magazine is a high-capacity magazine for firearms. The holding capacity varies between 50 to 100 rounds, an official said. BSF handed Khalik over to Pargwal police post under Khour PS for further action, officials said.
