A 62-year-old person from West Nipissing has been charged with impaired riving and drug trafficking after being stopped on the TransCanada Highway, west of North Bay.
On Dec. 11 at about 2 p.m., the North Bay OPP stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 in Beaucage Township.

Upon speaking with the driver, the officer determined they had consumed “an intoxicating substance,” the OPP said in a release.
The driver was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.
A search of the driver and vehicle resulted in the seizure of two bags of suspected cocaine, a digital scale and approximately $800 in Canadian currency.
