ST. GEORGE, La. (WAFB) - A long-time leader with ties to both the St. George and Zachary fire departments has passed away.
Both fire departments announced on Dec. 12 that Chief Chuckie Albert died following a courageous battle with cancer.
According to officials, Albert dedicated more than 40 years to the fire service. He began his career with the Zachary Fire Department in 1983. He went on to serve West Monroe as its fire chief from 1994 to 2000. The last two decades of his career were spent with the St. George Fire Department, where he held multiple chief officer roles, including chief of training, chief of administration, and chief of technology. He retired in 2022.
Funeral details have not been announced.
