Dozens of cold-stunned turtles are wintering at the Audubon Aquarium Rescue in New Orleans after a cold-stunning event left the reptiles paralyzed and requiring immediate assistance.
According to a Dec. 11 release from the Audubon Nature Institute , a "large cold stunning event" occurred in November, leaving 35 Kemp's ridley sea turtles, the most endangered species of sea turtle, with limited mobility and susceptible to pneumonia and other illnesses.
