Time Magazine announced its“Person of the Year” award, and the 2025 winners are the creators of Artificial Intelligence.
AI was considered the leading candidate to win, so it’s not a major surprise. Other contenders were Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky, Benjamin Netanyahu, and new Pope Leo, among others.
It is hard to argue with the AI selection (but I will), as the significance of Artificial Intelligence and where it is and may be going forward is huge. The impact will be felt in so many ways, and maybe most worrisome in ways we can’t even imagine yet.
All that being said, for this past year? For impact and significance, I think giving the award to “ICE and the Immigrants” would have been more appropriate.
That was the story of the year. Homeland Security, the National Guard, and ICE
