Former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore allegedly displayed alarming behavior in front of his accuser shortly before his arrest.
After Moore, 39, was informed by university athletic director Warde Manuel that he had been fired from his job on Wednesday, December 10 — citing an “inappropriate relationship” with a football staff member — Moore “barged his way into” the apartment of the woman in question.
“[Moore] immediately then proceeded to a kitchen drawer, grabbed several butter knives and a pair of kitchen scissors and began to threaten his own life,” Kati Rezmierski, first assistant prosecutor for Washtenaw County, said during an arraignment hearing on Friday, December 12.
