DEDHAM — Leading up to a New Year’s Eve party that went into 2023, Brian and Ana Walshe were having issues in their marriage, according to the court testimony of multiple witnesses. In the days after, evidence shows, Walshe bought cleaning and cutting supplies to dispose of her body. He has even admitted to doing so.

But there remains little direct evidence about what happened in between those times: how Ana Walshe died. And as both sides prepare to make their closing arguments in Brian Walshe’s murder trial on Friday, the prosecution is asking the jury to convict him based on inferences that the evidence shows motive and consciousness of guilt.

Jurors will be asked to connect the dots .
