MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - This weekend the Jewish festival of lights begins on Sunday night.

There is no shortage of Chanukah events happening in Madison throughout the holiday the week of December 14-21.

Mushkie Matusof from Chabad of Madison joined WMTV on Friday and shared more about what Chanukah means and how it is typically observed.

The organization is putting on a menorah lighting event Sunday to kick off the celebrations. While the event is typically held outdoors, the celebration will take place inside the Macy’s atrium at Hilldale Mall at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, due to the expected cold temperatures over the weekend.
