DODGEVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) — A man accused of killing a Dodgeville woman in her home and then driving to Nebraska with her body was in court Friday for a competency hearing.

Gavin Thompson, 23, of Dodgeville, is charged with first-degree intentional homicide, armed burglary, operating a motor vehicle without consent and hiding a corpse.

The court ruled Friday that Thompson currently lacks competency but that he will likely regain competency. Additional hearings are to be scheduled as needed.
