GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. — Two volunteer firefighters were arrested early Thursday after allegedly interfering with an active medical helicopter operation while under the influence of alcohol, according to the George County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded Dec. 11, 2025, to a report from AmeriPro Ambulance Service regarding interference during a life-flight medical response. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Mark Wilson, 60, and Kathleen Wilson, 67, both affiliated with the Bexley Volunteer Fire Department.

Authorities said an investigation determined both individuals were under the influence of alcohol at the time. Both were arrested and charged with obstruction of emergency assistance. Kathleen Wilson was additionally charged with drunkenness in a public place, while Mark Wilson
