BRANTINGHAM, New York (WWNY) - While snowmobilers are excited to hit the trails, club and state officials are asking them to take it easy, stressing a fun ride is a safe ride.

24-year-old Dylan Dailey died while snowmobiling late at night in January in Oneida County. His family says it was snowing, and believes it was hard for Dylan to see trail signs.

On Friday, they spoke at an event near Brantingham, advocating for better signage on all trails.

“I said, ‘Just be safe.’ He said, ‘I’m with my friends, we’re all being safe together. We’re staying together.’ I said, ‘Okay.’ So I let him go again. This time, he didn’t make it home,” said Alexia Spain, Dailey’s mother.
