President Trump said Friday he spoke with the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia, and they agreed to recommit to a ceasefire following border clashes over the past week that threatened to erupt into greater conflict.
Trump posted on Truth Social that both sides agreed to halt fighting Friday evening and go back to the terms of a peace accord signed in Malaysia in late October.
“I had a very good conversation this morning with the Prime Minister of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, and the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet, concerning the very unfortunate reawakening of their long-running War,” Trump posted.
“They have agreed to CEASE all shooting effective this evening, and go back to the original Peace Accord made with me, and them, with the help of the Great Prime Minister of Malaysia,
