A Broadway version of “A Christmas Story” takes the stage of the Beau Rivage Theatre this month with two young actors from Mobile in its cast. The show’s producer said it was a “no-brainer” to cast Carter Hale Jr. and Kelsie Watkins in the musical.
Based on the semi-autobiographical writings of humorist Jean Shepherd and the 1983 film of the same name, “A Christmas Story: The Musical” sets Ralphie Parker’s pining for a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model BB Gun to music. The show opened on Broadway in 2012 and was nominated for a handful of Tony Awards.
