CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — At least one person has died after a house fire in the Lake Asbury area on Friday, the Clay County Sheriff's Office says.

Clay County Fire Rescue reported the fire on Byron Road at around 4:30 p.m., where they say it was put out "fairly quickly."

Fire Rescue also reports that one person was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Per Fire Rescue, CCSO "will be leading the investigation" alongside the State Fire Marshal's Office.
