(CNN)– Children who received last season’s updated Covid-19 vaccine had a substantially lower risk of emergency and urgent care visits related to the virus, according to a CDC report.
The vaccine was 76% effective for healthy children 9 months to 4-years-old.
It was 56% effective for children ages 5 to 17.
The CDC says the shot added protection even for kids with past infections or earlier vaccines.
