In his latest mock draft, former ESPN analyst Todd McShay has the Los Angeles Rams picking Ohio State safety Caleb Downs with their first of two first round picks. McShay thinks with all the available options on the board that Downs would be the best fit for L.A.’s current roster and needs, not a quarterback or offensive help.
Do you agree with McShay?
Downs has long been touted as one of the best all-around football players in the country and going into the 2026 draft. The 6’, 205 lbs safety could help the Rams defense join others around the league that have embraced a shift in defensive personnel, specifically having a versatile third safety on the field at all times similar to Kyle Hamilton in Baltimore or Nick Emmanwori in Seattle.
Downs is also the nephew of former Rams cornerback
