CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- SNAP benefits continue to shift under the current presidential administration, and local advocates say the latest updates could have significant consequences for millions of Americans, including thousands right here in Virginia.

The changes don’t just affect working families. Veterans and people experiencing homelessness, who were previously exempt from certain rules, must now meet new requirements to keep their SNAP benefits.
