NEWARK, Ohio — Police say a man accused in a multistate crime spree that stretched from Ohio to Kentucky began his run from law enforcement in Newark last week.
Authorities say Jared Dennis is accused of robbing a gas station late Thursday. Newark police began investigating and located a suspect just before 7 a.m. Friday.
Sgt. Clint Eskins said Dennis’ behavior that night raised immediate alarms.
“Based on his behavior at that time, he presented a very high threat to the public, not obviously through his driving and wanting to elude officers, but just the behavior in itself of wanting to threaten to use force or use force in order to basically just steal money from a gas station,” Eskins said. “That, that's not normal behavior.
