AMES, Iowa —

Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht had successful surgery Thursday.

KCCI's Scott Reister confirmed the news with Becht's father, Anthony. The surgery was to repair Becht's labrum.

The injury was to Becht's non-throwing arm.

The Cyclones will not play in a bowl game this year despite qualifying for one with an 8-4 record.

Becht, a three-year starter for the Cyclones, has one year of eligibility remaining. He has thrown for 9,274 yards and 64 touchdowns in his career. The Cyclones are entering a major transition after the departure of coach Matt Campbell and the hiring of Jimmy Rogers .
