KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — This past fall, Lakeshore Park announced several new projects as part of Phase 2, Part 2 of the park's Master Construction Plan .
The new plan includes community input and was approved by the Knoxville City Council in 2020.
According to the park, the first project to break ground is a new terrace connecting Marble Hall and the Pavilion to expand event capacity. This new terrace will also transform a pathway that is usually heavily trafficked and muddy into a "safe and durable" walkway.
Additionally, the road next to Marble Hall is going to be repaved, and its storm drains are being repaired. The park is also adding new sidewalks along the roadway to provide a safer route for pedestrians walking through the park.
Work is also underway to create a brand new restroom
