ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Police are investigating a shooting at a DeKalb County townhome community Friday morning that left two people dead, including a child, and one injured.

Officers responded to Golden Gate Luxury Townhomes, a gated community off Chatfield Drive in unincorporated Stone Mountain, around 1:15 a.m.

According to police, a woman in her 30s shot a man and then a girl, who police describe as “older than 10.” She then shot and killed herself, officers believe.

The girl did not survive, while the man was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital, police said.

Detectives have not yet released any identities or shared how the three knew each other. According to investigators, the shooting started as a domestic argument.

The investigation remains ongoing.
