(KRON) -- Criminal charges will not be filed against a fisherman for another fisherman's violent drowning death in Moss Landing Harbor, the Monterey County District Attorney announced.
"Based on the current state of the evidence, no charges will be filed against Joshua Holtzclaw concerning the death of Trenton Black," District Attorney Jeannine Pacioni's office wrote Thursday.
The two fishermen got into a fight on June 11 before Black drowned, investigators said. Circumstances surrounding his death have been questioned by his friends and loved ones for months.
The DA's office released the following timeline of events from June 11:
Early in the morning, Holtzclaw was fishing from his boat in the Monterey Bay just outside the harbor. Black traveled in his own fishing boat from Santa Cruz
