Graves County citizens will soon benefit from two generous donations to purchase four (4) additional Tornado warning sirens to be constructed.
According to a social media post from the Graves County Sheriff's Office, the Graves County Fiscal Court has awarded the bid to Capitol Electronics (Federal Signal) for the purchase of four tornado sirens, at a cost of $38,693 each, for a total of $154,772.
This was made possible by monetary donations from Jackson Purchase Medical Center (Lifepoint Health), and the Mayfield-Graves County Tornado Relief Fund Inc.
Graves County Emergency Management Director Tracy Warner is compiling data to find areas of Graves County for the installation that would benefit the most per population and other factors.
