The London Knights aren’t aiming to just hold fast while the Hunter brothers and captain Sam O’Reilly are with the Canadian world junior team.
They are expected to start winning games, move up the standings and prove this team is better than just a middle-of-the-pack entry. They started that mission well with two Braiden Clark goals and a strong Sebastian Gatto performance in net that paced a gritty 5-3 victory over Saginaw before 9,061 Friday at Canada Life Place.
“I’d like to see a little bit of resiliency and pushback at this point, not just because Mark and Dale (Hunter) are gone,” said London associate GM Rob Simpson, who is helping out the shorthanded bench for the next few weeks. “The last number of games, we’ve been inconsistent in some areas and I’d like to see our team dig in.
