CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - E-Checks will continue in Northeast Ohio after federal officials rejected a state proposal to eliminate the vehicle emissions testing system.

State Representative Bill Roemer said the e-check system is among the top complaints from constituents in his office. He plans to write a letter to President Trump appealing the U.S. EPA’s decision.

“They don’t believe that it’s compliant with the Clean Air Act, and we obviously are very disappointed because the residents of Northeast Ohio -- the seven affected counties in Northeast Ohio have been punished far too long,” Representative Roemer said.
