A man was accused of operating a chop shop and stealing vehicles, including a 1967 Ford Shelby Cobra GT Mustang, in Vallejo, according to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said they served a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Phoenix Circle on Nov. 25.
During the service of the warrant, a 35-year-old man refused to come to the door, according to authorities. Deputies used force to enter the home, and it was determined the suspect broke his phone and started a fire on his bedroom floor to destroy evidence, sheriff’s officials said.
Detectives found six vehicles that had their Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) altered or switched to apparently conceal their identity or stolen status, the sheriff’s office reported.
