BOARDMAN, Ore. – A garage fire on Blalock Street prompted a swift response from the Boardman Fire Rescue District (BFRD) on Friday evening, with crews successfully managing the blaze and ensuring all occupants and pets evacuated safely.

Crews responded to the incident around 6:14 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters quickly gained access to a water supply and began battling the interior fire.

Meanwhile, medical personnel attended to a patient suffering from smoke inhalation and transported them to a local hospital.

Firefighters cut a vent hole in the roof that prevented the fire from spreading through the attic to the rest of the house. With additional units arriving on scene to assist, the garage fire was brought under control.
