Bedard immediately reached for his right shoulder area, showing signs of serious discomfort. Chicago had been pushing for a late equalizer, but instead left the ice with both a loss and a sudden injury concern for their most important player.
The incident happened with less than a second left on the clock as Bedard lined up for an offensive zone faceoff against Blues captain Brayden Schenn. As the puck dropped, Schenn made contact with Bedard, who fell backward onto the ice and instantly grabbed his shoulder. The Blues went on to win 3-2.
