A man has been charged with a string of offences in connection with a serious crash near Ipswich railway station.
Officers were called to a collision involving a pedestrian and a silver BMW 318i in Burrell Road around 7.30am on Thursday.
A police spokesman said the driver failed to stop and left the scene.
The pedestrian, a woman aged in her 30s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
Burrell Road and Willoughby Road were closed for most of Thursday as investigation work was carried out.
Following the crash, police located the car believed to have been involved and arrested a 32-year-old man.
