Scores of cars will weave through Pittsburgh’s hilly streets Sunday, offering an unusual sight: menorahs of all shapes and sizes strapped to their roofs to usher in the first night of Hanukkah.

And bicyclists will ride alongside these “menorah mobiles,” with normal-size menorahs fastened to their helmets.

Traditional Hanukkah menorahs have eight candles lit for each night, with one “helper” candle at the center called the “shamash” used to light the others, according to Chabad, a Jewish movement rooted in the 18th century that now has more than 3,500 affiliated institutions in more than 100 countries worldwide.
