PORTLAND, Maine (WMTW) - A man living in Maine who was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for weeks is sharing the wild story of how he and his fiancée got married at the Texas immigration facility where he was being held.
Lucas Segobia, a Searsport resident and Brazilian native, told our media partner, WMTW , that back in May, he was driving to work in Bar Harbor with his friend Marcos Henrique after attending a festival out of state. Driving on the Maine Turnpike through Scarborough, they were pulled over by the Maine State Police for improper license plates.
“I was asleep, my friend was driving,” Segobia recalled. “He said, ‘Oh, the cops just pull us over,’ and I say, ‘Okay, what happened? What did you do? An accident?’ He said, ‘Nothing, I was just driving normal.
