Sidewalks dangerous
I am just back from attempting to walk my neighbour’s dog. On this day, I came close to falling three times. This is not unusual for a winter walk in my neighbourhood. We have lived here 10 years and I have fallen at least once each winter for most of those years. We can no longer have a dog of our own because it is just too treacherous in the winter.
Having lived in several other cities during the years, I do not understand why people are not responsible for their sidewalks in London. The machine which sometimes comes, basically skims over the ice and ruins lawns, is a poor substitute for making the homeowner responsible and liable if someone falls and is injured in front of their house.
